TOW BARS, COUPLINGS & MIRRORS

If you plan on towing there is no getting around the need for a tow bar. The Cruisemaster Towing Performance Centre fits Hayman Reese towbars for those new to the towing game. If new to towing the team at the Cruisemaster TPC are happy to work through the best combination of tow bar, tow tongue and potentially WDH for your set up.

Given Cruisemaster is home to the DO35 Coupling you can trust we know a thing or two about the towing connections on the market.

If you’re looking for a coupling that will go everywhere with you, look no further than the Cruisemaster DO35, the market leading 3.5T drop-on all-terrain articulated coupling. This couplings combination of cast and forged components gives it the strength to handle the rigors of outback travel with the reliability to get you there and back.

While designed as an off-road product the inherit safety features of an articulated hitch has made this product universally a must have for all types of travel. In the situation where your caravan or trailer was to roll the articulated features of the DO35 would greatly reduce the risk of the trailer taking the tow vehicle with it or disconnecting from the trailer creating another hazard. (Also available in 4.5T model).

The other major recommendation before you start towing is a quality set of towing side mirrors. We don’t think there is a better mirror on the market then ClearView. ClearView mirrors are a permanent mirror solution that are adjustable depending if you are towing and need a wider view or just on your daily drive so require the standard position. They are also wired into your vehicles existing mirror controls for maximum ease of use and even have an option for turning indicators.

COUPLINGS - DO35 & DO45

Whether looking to tow down the track less traveled or looking for a safer alternate to the traditional ball coupling, the Cruisemaster DO35 is a must have addition to your towing set up.

As caravans get heavier and weight distribution systems more wide spread, we went back to basics to produce the DO35v3, a coupling that can handle it all.

Forged steel, high quality polyurethane, laser cut stainless steel and precision casting has been brought together to increase the couplings strength yet also reduce weight. This updated DO35 is over 50% stronger than the outgoing model. These advanced processes have also allowed the elimination of hitch adaptors* allowing you to get on the road with less fuss.

A challenging RAT Run to Cape York has shown that the new DO35v3 coupling can handle all that you can throw at it, but at its core it still retains the simple drop-on attachment method loved by travellers Australia wide.

Towing over the 3.5T limit of the DO35, then you will be after its big brother the DO45. Based off the same concepts as the DO35 but build extra tough for heavy towing.

DO35 - Suitable for towing up to 3.5T

DO45 - Suitable for towing up to 4.5T

We can also source Weight Distribution Hitches for those looking to get a bit more stability in their towing experience. Given the additional effects the WDH can have on your coupling and ball weight we can talk you through the process to ensure a system like this is right for your set up.

TOWING MIRRORS

We offer towing mirror solutions from both industry mainstays Clear View and up and comers in the space MSA. While there are a number of temporary mirror options for the occasional tow-er, if you are serious about your towing and spend a lot of time out on the road you can go past a full mirror replacement.

The Cruisemaster TPC will talk you through what options are available for the make and model of your vehicle.
